Why Local History Matters: Stories from Berks County

Computer Classes

Introduction to the Internet  - Friday, September 10th  & 17th, 1-2:30 pm

The purpose of this course is to acquire skill and knowledge as a beginning user of the Internet. Prerequisite skills: the ability to use a keyboard and a mouse.  Space is limited.  Preregistration is required.

Introduction to Microsoft Office Word 2007  - Friday November 5th and 12th, 1-2:30 pm

Learn how to word process with Microsoft Word 2007.  Techniques that will be covered include formatting, tables, headers and footers, alignment, spell check, page layout, watermarks.  Prerequisite skills: the ability to use a keyboard and a mouse.  Space is limited.  Preregistration is required.

Find Hidden Job Leads Online and at the Library Wed, Sept  29 at 3 pm

There's a wealth of free and low-cost information available to job seekers that can be used to improve the efficiency of a search and potentially secure a new job faster. During this webinar, participants will learn what research and job information tools are available both online and off and how to incorporate these tools into their search strategy.

Write a Resume That Gets a Job Wed, Oct  27 at 3 pm

Participants will learn how to write a resume that hiring managers will notice. Participants will find out how to write a powerful profile and skills summary; transform a list of job tasks into powerful success stories; leverage education and internships to prove you have the “right stuff.”

Learn How to Interview Like a Pro Wed, Dec  1 at 3 pm

A great interview is the last step in securing the job you want. Participants will learn how to feel comfortable during an interview (no more stumbling or freezing up) along with the latest interview styles, techniques and how to answer the top two interview questions everyone gets asked.
