The Muhlenberg Community Library is a non-profit 501(c)3, receiving public support from the State of Pennsylvania, Berks County, Muhlenberg Township, Laureldale Borough, and Alsace Township. In 2011, 26% of our support was from private citizens, corporations, and civic groups.

You can shop for the library right now by going to our Wish List page on our website or go to our Amazon Wish List account. Browse through the items we need and have them shipped to the Muhlenberg Community Library or drop them off at the front desk.
You can also use your credit card to make a tax-deductible donation to the MuhlenbergCommunity Library through JustGive.org. Atax receipt will be emailed to you from JustGive.org.
Send a Donation
The Muhlenberg Community Library sends out a contribution letter twice a year to a limited number of supporters. If you have been missed and wish to donate, please print out the Spring 2013 Letter and mail your contribution to the Muhlenberg Community Library, 3612 Kutztown Rd, Reading PA 19605.
Corporate Support
The Muhlenberg Community Library welcomes support from business. To that end, the Muhlenberg Community Library has applied and been approved for the Educational Improvement Tax Credit Program (EITC). The EITC designation gives tax credits to eligible businesses contributing to the Muhlenberg Community Library, an "Educational Improvement Organization", equal to 75% of its contribution up to a maximum of $300,000 per taxable year; and can be increased to 90% of the contribution, if the business agrees to provide same amount for two consecutive tax years. Redner's Receipts
Apply for a Sav-a-Tape card at the office of your Redner's and use this card every time you shop. This card will automatically calculate and print a total of non-excluded items at the bottom of the tape.Then drop the entire Redner's receipt off at Muhlenberg Community Library. Muhlenberg Community Library will receive 1% of the totals from your receipts. Please take advantage of Redner's offer to support the library.
Make a Bequest
Make a lasting gift to support the library's mission to meet the educational, informational, and recreational needs of the community. Bequests can be made in the form of cash or property, or a percentage of the remainder of an estate.
The following language is one way to make bequests to the Muhlenberg Community Library:
I hereby give, devise and bequeath to the Trustees of the Muhlenberg Community Library, a nonprofit corporation, organized and operating under the laws of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, the sum of [$___ OR the rest, residue and remainder of my estate] to be used for the general purposes of the Muhlenberg Community Library or for [a particular program of your choosing].

Adopt a Book
Honor someone special and help to build the Muhlenberg Community Library collection. Your tax-deductible donation will be used to purchase items for the library. A bookplate showing your name will be placed in each item. You may choose to dedicate the items to the memory of, or in the honor of someone special to you. This name will be shown on the bookplate as well. If you are a member of a club or organization, adopting a book could be a group project, perhaps continuing from month-to-month or year-to-year. Items to be adopted are displayed twice a year (National Library Week in April and during December). Or you may chose a category of item to be adopted. Suggested categories:

Friends of the Library

Volunteer Time
Volunteers may find many ways to help the library, from keeping shelves orderly, to fundraising, to entering information into databases. If you are interested in giving some time to the library, please complete the Volunteer Application Form and forward it to the library.
Become a Trustee
The Board of Trustees consists of volunteers from the community. Terms of office are one year. Board meetings are scheduled the second Monday night of each month. If you are interested in becoming a Library Trustee, please contact the Library Director.
