Please join us at the LedgeRock Golf Club on Tuesday, June 4, 2013 to be a part of Penske Truck Leasing's Seventh Annual Mifflin Community Library Golf Outing! Once again, it promises to be a fun day with plenty of delicious food (the raw bar is always a hit!), great prizes and some new activities to make the day even more enjoyable. Best of all, this outing gives you the opportunity to play LedgeRock, a Rees Jones Course, nestled in the beautiful green hills of Cumru Township.
This exceptional outing has helped to make the Mifflin Community Library a cornerstone of our community. The library continues to be an asset, not only for the Mifflin area, but also for the Berks County Public Library System and beyond. Recent economic conditions have reinforced the need for public libraries such as ours. Many more people are visiting every day to use the computers, borrow books, and participate in programs such as our Children's Summer Reading program.
Decreased funding due to the economic climate and state budget cuts has presented the Library with its own set of challenges, even as the demand for library services has remained high. The proceeds of this tournament help to insure the future of the library in our community and guarantee free and equal access to its resources for all community members.
If you are a past participant, you will agree with golfers who tell us, "This is a first class event." If you haven't played our tournament before, make 2013 the year you do! We are able to avoid a price increase again this year by limiting beverages to beer and wine. A cash bar will still be available.
We know you understand the importance of the Library in our community, and we hope you will make a difference by sponsoring and/or playing in this tournament which has become a favorite for many. We hope to see you on June 4th!
