2017 Golf Outing

Sponsored by:Precision Medical and Zimmer Biomet Riccione

MCL Golf Logo Please join us at the LedgeRock Golf Club on Tuesday, June 6, 2017 to be part of the Eleventh Annual Mifflin Community Library Golf Outing!

The long-range forecast says the weather will be beautiful this year providing excellent course conditions, and inside the clubhouse, you're guaranteed the delicious food the tournament is known for–including the ever-popular raw bar! Most importantly, this outing offers you the opportunity to play LedgeRock, a private course designed by Rees Jones and nestled in the challenging hills of Cumru Township.

In its first ten years, the Mifflin Community Library Golf Outing has raised more than $160,000 for the Library, helping to carry out our mission to create and promote free and equal access to knowledge for our community through dynamic media, technology, and programming in a safe, welcoming environment. Within the current economic climate, people rely on public libraries such as ours every day for knowledge, information, and opportunity. They employ public library services, such as using the computers, borrowing books, and participating in programs like Summer Reading, to help improve themselves and, as a result, our community.Foursome

As with most non-profits, the Library struggles to keep providing the same or enhanced services with level or decreasing funding. Meanwhile, the demand for library services remains high. In 2016:

  • 122,392 items were checked out of the library
  • Computers were used more than 70 times a day, for 21,908 sessions total
  • The collection grew almost 1,700 pieces, to 35,330 items

The proceeds of this tournament help to ensure the future of the library in our community, and guarantee free and equal access to its resources for all community members.

Whether you decide to play golf, become a sponsor, or place an advertisement in our event booklet, you will have a definite and immediate impact. On behalf of the planning committee and the library, thank you and we hope to see you on June 6th!
