PLAYAWAY

Have you heard? There’s a better way to listen to audiobooks!
If you aren’t familiar with Playaways, you’ll want to check them out. A Playaway is a small audio player that comes preloaded with an entire audiobook, regardless of length. You don’t need a separate player, and you don’t have to worry about several cassettes or CDS… just press play! It’s perfect for people of all ages and gives you the portability to catch up with a good book wherever you are. Plus, they’re small enough to carry around in your pocket – so your favorite book can go anywhere you do!
Check them out at the Schuylkill Valley Community Library.
Happy listening!
NEW Large Print Books and Books on CD
Are your eyes tiring more easily? Do you drive a lot and get bored by what is on the radio? Why not visit the Library and check out the new materials we are receiving on a regular basis! New Large Print books and books on CD are waiting for you @ your Library.

Tails for Tales
Kids, come read your favorite story to certified therapy dogs. They love to listen … especially from your lap! This program will be held on the last Wednesday of the month at 6:30 pm.
StoryRiders
The Storyriders come to our library on Tuesdays at 9:30 am, starting Sept 14.
Library Cards and Borrowing
Library cards may be issued to any Berks County resident upon presentation of valid photo identification and proof of current address. For those under 18, a parental signature is required. Your new library card is accepted at every member library of the Berks County Public Library System including RACC, BTI, and the Council on Chemical Abuse. The Access Pennsylvania sticker allows borrowing at many other public libraries throughout the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
Information Services
Our library has staff trained to help you, the library patron, find the information you need. Staff answer questions in person or over the telephone, assisting students, researchers, the curious, do-it-yourselfers, and anyone else who needs information.
Services to Children and their Families
Each library has a collection of books, magazines, and other items geared for children from babyhood on up. Activities for children include Summer Reading programs, pre-school story hours, and special events at holidays and throughout the year. Contact us for details.
