So Much More Than Books.....

is an informational video produced by the Friends of Berks County Public Libraries about the Berks County Library System.

::  Book Bonanza Information ::

Welcome to Berks County Public Libraries

Twenty-three public library sites throughout the county make up Berks County Public Libraries. In these libraries are collections of books, magazines, newspapers and movies to educate, entertain, and inform the public. Interlibrary loans, storytelling, tours, craft activities, book discussion groups, and other varied programs for children and adults are also available.
Additionally, all public libraries offer free access to the Internet.

Library Cards and Borrowing

Library cards may be issued to any Berks County resident upon presentation of identification. For those under 18, parental signature is required. Your library card is accepted at every library location. The Access Pennsylvania sticker allows borrowing at many other public libraries throughout Pennsylvania.

Information Services

Each library has staff trained to help library patrons find the information they need. Staff answer questions in person or over the telephone, assisting students, researchers, the curious, do-it-yourselfers, and anyone else who needs information. While each library has a collection of reference materials, the Reading Public Library with its specialized collections has more extensive reference resources and a larger staff of professional librarians. Contact the reference department at Reading Public Library at 610-655-6355.

Services to Children and their Families

Each library has a collection of books, magazines, and other items geared for children from babyhood on up. Activities for children include Summer Reading programs, pre-school story hours, and special events at holidays and throughout the year. Contact the location nearest you for details.
